KDE SC 4.5.5, KDEPIM 4.4.9 for mandriva 2010.[1,2]

Since the 5th January KDE SC 4.5.5 is released, so as usual you'll find here the lastest stable KDE version.

Please note that it's going to be the last backport for 2010.1 i'm going to do because of two reasons:

--> KDE SC 4.6 is going to be integrated with mandriva 2011.0.

--> KDE SC 4.6 is also going to be provided with the future mageia & and alpha release is expected by the end of January.

One good news here is that KDE 4.5.5 is going to be uploaded on kde's ftp (& his mirrors ) so you'll be able to get even more mirrors next to you, since neoclust (KDE's packager for mandriva)  is going to upload all the package as soon as possible,as usual it's also mirrored on MIB.

Please note that i created a new media named others in order to avoid uploading non KDE packages on kde's repository (or at least the needed one)

So we now have

kde4.5.5/release
you'll be able to find here KDE SC 4.5.5, KDEPIM 4.4.9,Qt 4.7.1,Dbus 1.4.0,digikam & kipi-plugins 1.7 & some library updated to their lastest stable version

kde4.5.5/testing
for testing packages (i'll put here for example the oxgyen-gtk package), probably digikam 2.0 beta

kde4.5.5/updates
you'll find here updates for my packages like bugfixes from KDE 4.5 trunk, & they should also land on kde's mirrors

kde4.5.5/others
you'll find here others packages like  networkmanager 0.8.2, knetworkmanager, some plasmoids applet, bluedevil, yakuake, vlc, phonon-vlc,clementine , koffice 2.3  etc etc
updates for thoses packages will also land in the same directory

To add the repository you'll need to do

  1. remove all kde4.5.4 repositoriesurpmi.removemedia -a kde4.5.4
  2. add the kde4.5.5 repositoriesfor example using my ftp it's going to be for x86_64  :urpmi.addmedia kde4.5.5_releases ftp://ftp.littleboboy.net/pub/linux/mdv/2010.1/x86_64/media/kde4.5.5/release
    urpmi.addmedia kde4.5.5_updates --update ftp://ftp.littleboboy.net/pub/linux/mdv/2010.1/x86_64/media/kde4.5.5/updates
    urpmi.addmedia kde4.5.5_others --update ftp://ftp.littleboboy.net/pub/linux/mdv/2010.1/x86_64/media/kde4.5.5/others

    and for  i586
    urpmi.addmedia kde4.5.5_releases ftp://ftp.littleboboy.net/pub/linux/mdv/2010.1/i586/media/kde4.5.5/release
    urpmi.addmedia kde4.5.5_updates --update ftp://ftp.littleboboy.net/pub/linux/mdv/2010.1/i586/media/kde4.5.5/updates
    urpmi.addmedia kde4.5.5_others --update ftp://ftp.littleboboy.net/pub/linux/mdv/2010.1/i586/media/kde4.5.5/others

  3. upgrade

    urpmi --auto-select

Feel free to request some packages updates for plasmoid in comments or report packaging bugs here :)

Edit: KDE SC 4.5.5 is now available on kde's ftp \o/

  1. It might be necessary for x86_64 user to add the i586 repos aswell. Those who have Skype installed need some of the 32-bit libs. If they update only the 64-bit packages they end up with mismatching package versions making Skype unable to start.

    • Skype is only a 32bits apps, so it should not be affected by 64bits package.
Here for example i still have the Qt package from 2010.1 & skype is running without problem.
Do you have more information or logs eventually ?

      Regards,

  2. I don’t remember all the packages, but one of them is libqtdbus4 (32-bit). (I’m using the dynamic Skype package).

When the rest of Qt gets updated (maybe some noarch?) then Skype don’t start without updating the 32-bit packages aswell. At least from my experience.

  3. Well done Mikala.
    Very good job (as usual).

May you consider to package Librecad?
    http://www.librecad.org/
    src rpm here: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Rallaz/Mandriva_2010.1/src/
This program should have a better audience.

  4. Hi, great job, lot of improvements since 4.4!
It’ll be difficult to wait for 2011.0…

Unfortunately one of my favorite plasmoid (quickaccess) doesn’t work.
Is it possible to provide a rpm for that, I don’t have time to create a complete build environment.

    Thanks a lot

  5. Yes it works, I messed up with my repos, sorry for that!

    Best^^
